HISTORY

The Tokotoko Charitable Trust was established in 2019 to support our communities in Whangarei, Dargaville and Te Tai Tokerau.

The trust was formed by Samu, Kris and Jesse.

The purpose of the trust:

  • Improve and enhance the quality of life and wellbeing of individuals and families who have been affected by poverty, financial hardship, significant trauma or whanau displacement.

  • Provide support and guidance towards education, training and employment.

  • Develop, promote, mentor and support new business start-up initiatives of individuals who are unemployed and/or in poverty.

  • Work with local and central government agencies, and other interested bodies, to develop policies and outcomes-focused programmes and initiatives.

  • Provide free programmes and initiatives related to the advancement of education, the promotion of health and fitness (health and wellbeing and recreation) and individual business development, financial planning and management (in conjunction with clause 3.1.3).
